Damien Hirst’s ‘controversial’ Mother and Child, Divided work is set to be the centre-piece of Torbay’s summer art exhibition, tamed.
Now going under the name of Art on the English Riviera, the summer show is the jewel in the crown of Torbay’s art and culture calendar, and last year was a run away success with Antony Gormley’s Field For The British Isles.
There will be an opportunity for the region’s artists to be involved in the ‘tamed’ show.
Damien’s work is borrowed from the Tate, and a Torbay organiser said: “This new relationship with Tate further cements our growing reputation in the art world and on the Cultural Map – organisers hope thousands of visitors from all over the country will visit the exhibition bringing money into our Bay proving once again that art and culture can be drivers for regeneration and inward investment.”
