South Devon as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty

Harbour House, Kingsbridge, is the venue for an exhibition of photographs celebrating the 50th anniversary of the designation of the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The show opens at the Kingsbridge gallery on Tuesday, July 6, and features the winners and runners-up in a competition staged earlier in the year, encouraging amateur photographers and young people to share their favourite views of this varied region, recognised as one of Britain’s finest landscapes. Finalists have been selected from more than 300 entries, and the winners have been chosen by public vote.

Also on display will be an extensive selection of images from the organisation’s archive, including photographs showing how the area looked before being designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
