Aftermath: an exhibition on hope for the human spirit

Aftermath by John McDermott

The Aftermath exhibition at Exeter Castle focuses on the trauma of conflict. But although the images are of a conflict orientated world, the paintings also offer hope for the survivability of the human spirit, says artitst John McDermott.

In the last of our series of conversations of John with artist Volkhardt Muller, John describes more of the Aftermath exhibition and how the issues raised aim to be positive rather than negative.

Aftermath runs from Friday, June 25 to Sunday, July 4 at Exeter Castle, Devon. Free entry and open daily between 10am and 6pm.
