Stone inspires steel at 45 Southside

Sacha Foster

Sacha Foster cites Peter Randall-Page’s stone sculptures as one of the influences for her Inside, Outside series, which is currently showing at 45 Southside, Plymouth.

But whereas Peter works in stone, Sacha explores positive and negative space with the polished and blackened rough surfaces of her steel sculptures.

“My pieces physically push the material to its limits,” Sacha told ArtsCulture.

She has already established herself as one of the new and emerging talents which 45 Southside owners Kirsten Kruse and Mathias Landwehr aim to support – since graduating from Plymouth College of Art this year, Sacha has been part of the New Designers exhibition in London.

• Sacha Foster’s Inside, Outside exhibition runs at 45 Southside, Plymouth until Monday, October 18
