Call for Plymouth artists to join Drawn to the Valley, artists of the Tamar Valley

Drawn to the Valley artists are inviting Plymouth artists to open their studios (or homes, or sheds) during the first week of the British Art Show 2011, beginning September 17. The British Art Show will attract extra art-lovers to Plymouth, and Drawn to the Valley will be part of the Fringe events taking place.

Chairman of Drawn to the Valley Martin Clark told ArtsCulture: “DTTV is rising to the challenge and opportunities offered by the British Art Show, 2011 and we welcome further members in the Plymouth area who work in any contemporary style or media; we are planning the event right now, so we urge artists to join as soon as possible, deadline end of February, to be sure of inclusion.”

During Open Studios, the public is welcomed into the private working space of the artist, to experience the art and chat about working process and inspiration, and in many cases buy the work. Building on their previous seven years of Open Studios, Drawn to the Valley will be opening their studios for the British art show week (as well as their usual annual opening, at the end of August.)
