Theatre Devon – new website resource for theatre-makers and audiences in Devon

Theatre Devon

Theatre Devon is a new community-driven website and an interactive resource for theatre-makers and audiences in the county.

The website will enable the theatre community to create a dialogue and awareness for theatre activity in and around Devon. It allows artists, companies, organisations and audiences to promote their theatre practice in the form of directory listings and listings of events, news, opportunities and jobs.

Harry Long of Totnes-based Shanty Theatre said: “The Theatre Devon website is a great project, and important! If ever there was a time for organisations and practitioners to work together, pooling resources etc, it’s now.”

The website is part of a larger South West network of theatre related directory websites called the Albow family of websites. Theatre Devon will share streams of news, jobs and opportunities from all across the region through its connection with duplicate sites in Cornwall, Somerset, Dorset, Bath and Wiltshire, Bristol and Gloucestershire.

Theatre Devon will be publicly launch at the Wide Awake Devon: Devon Discussions event at Exeter Phoenix on Tuesday, May 10 at 5.30pm.

This event is a chance for live performance makers, organisation and venues to meet with each other, establish relationships and develop new ideas with the support of other live performance makers and organisations.

Theatre Devon has beenco ordinated by a partnership with Exeter Phoenix and Wide Awake Devon supported by Devon County Council and has been made possible by Albow Ltd.
