Internationally renowned British sculptor, Brian Griffiths, is taking to the stage at Plymouth College of Art on Tuesday 14 June 14 from 6.30pm to 8.30pm to provide an exclusive insight into his spectacular three dimensional work.
This represents a truly unique opportunity for the people of Plymouth to gain inspiration from a leading contemporary artist.
Griffiths is one of the artists who will be exhibiting his work as part of the forthcoming British Art Show 7: In the Days of the Comet which is coming to Plymouth from September 17 to December 4.
His talk is part of Constellation, a series of events and activities highlighting contemporary art organised by members of the Plymouth Visual Arts Consortium, in the build up to the show.
Griffiths’ work revolves around the assisted readymade or the fabricated found object. He exhibits a highly evolved sense of sculptural possibility, referencing the everyday whilst bringing a fantastical dimension to it.
Hannah Jones, exhibitions and events officer at Plymouth College of Art, explained the significance of this event: “This is a fantastic opportunity to welcome an internationally acclaimed sculptor to Plymouth College of Art and is a real coup for the city.
“Anyone who is passionate about contemporary art cannot fail to be inspired by the magnificent talent of Brian Griffiths and this is the chance to get underneath the skin of his work and gain an insight into what inspires it.”
Admission to this talk is free although places are limited so advance booking is essential. To book your place call 01752 203434 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
