There are just a few more days to register for Devon Open Studios 2012. Artists and craftspeople in the county are invited to get involved in the event before the closing date of March 1.
Devon Artist Network is offering its Emerging Artist Bursary scheme to encourage new and emerging artists to take part in the annual Devon Open Studios event in 2012.
Devon is home to clay, so it’s kinda interesting that clay and Devon have attracted Swedish-born former performance artist Ulrika-Igraine Munoz-Alarcon, who’s taking part in Devon Open Studios.
Celebrated artist Jane Perkins will be inviting members of the public to help her re-create a giant famous work of art ‘live’ using found materials as part of the launch of Devon Open Studios 2011 at the Northcott Theatre between 2-9pm on September 1 .
Devon Artist Network has announced a 42% increase in artists and makers taking part in Devon Open Studios 2011, compared to last year. There will be more than 370 artists, crafts-people and designer/makers showing in 146 venues across the county.
Nigel is a painter working within the mediums of painting and photography. “My paintings are a creative response to a setting using partly observed and partly automatic mark making. These visual perceptions include light, colour, overlaid forms and peripheral reflections which altogether create a complex multi-layered image.”
