A landscape architect who is working on the Shaldon tunnel defence scheme and is looking for contacts who would be interested in a piece of artwork that will be part of this scheme.  It will involve a bespoke piece of furniture preferably made of timber.

Devon sculptor Luke Shepherd’s bust of Leo Abse to be housed in the National Museum of Cardiff

It took Devon portrait sculptor Luke Shepherd six sittings to capture Labour rebel and social reformer Leo Abse in a reflective mood. The bust will be donated to the National Museum Cardiff, and will be unveiled on Thursday, October 22, the 40th anniversary of the passing of the Divorce Reform Act 1969, which Abse pressed through parliament.

The Devon Guild’s autumn exhibition, In Tandem, billed as ‘an intriguing dialogue between furniture and ceramics’, brings together wood and ceramics makers Terry Sawle and Blandine Anderson, from Saturday, September 26 to Sunday, November 8.
