Comic book Gods and Greek theatrics in Alcestis at Farringdon

The Farringdon Society of Arts production of Ted Hughes’ Alcestis  is playing at Froginwell Cider Barn Theatre on July 15- 18 at 7.30pm

The group seems intent on highlighting the dramatic power of The Greek play – last year they got all Oedipus on your ass with Seamus Heaney’s The Burial at Thebes, and now with Alcestis they’ve turned their Gods into cartoon characters – all very Jungian (or should that be DC Comics).

The play even has installation art, and is set in a cider bar… er… we mean barn.
