The University of Salford’s CUBE Gallery is launching DESIGNLab, a new space dedicated to the celebration of some of the most cutting edge designers around.
DESIGNLab is showcasing award-winning cabinetmaker, craftsman and furniture artist John Galvin.
Glasgow-based John specialises in the application of traditional cabinet making methods to design unique pieces of bespoke furniture that intrigue and captivate.
These innovative creations integrate contemporary design with quality craftsmanship. Having launched John Galvin Design in 2008, the self-funded business has gone from strength to strength in the past three years.
As part of DESIGNLab John will exhibit his Manolo Lounger chair which has just won the furniture section of the 2011 Trada Wood Awards.
DESIGNLab: John Galvin runs from December 16 to February 4 at the Salford University’s CUBE. Opening hours Mon-Fri 12-5.30pm Saturday noon-5pm Closed Sunday. Admission is free. For more details pop over to the CUBE site
