Louise Bougourd

Harbour House in Kingsbridge is the venue for Colours of Life – an exhibition of paintings by Spectra, a group of South Devon artists.

The four artists of the group have worked together over the past three years, sharing ideas and perspectives, and now offer a lively, colourful exhibition with painting demonstrations throughout the week.

Louise Bougourd works in watercolour, inspired by the depth of colour to be seen in local scenery: the sun setting over rivers and moorland, or reflections of a boat on dancing water.

Inspired by light and mood, Wendy Chudley layers colour and tone in her atmospheric land and sea scapes, while other monochromatic works evoke the nostalgia of black and white photographs.

Christina Minty‘s decorative and richly coloured paintings chart her journey from realism to abstraction.

Cherry Lyons' And Then The Sun Came Out

Cherry Lyons is an experimental watercolour, pastel and mixed media artist. Unafraid of mixing her media, she allows the dynamic but unpredictable nature of watercolour to provide the spontaneity that captures fleeting atmospheric moments in time.

• Colours of Life opens at Harbour House in Kingsbridge on Tuesday, November 22. Opening times will be 10am-5pm, and there will be regular demonstrations of painting throughout the fortnight. The show closes on Sunday, December 4. Admission is free. See the Harbour House website for details.
