Ways With Words is offering young people a chance to attend the festival

The Telegraph Ways With Words festival of words and ideas is continuing to offer its successful bursary scheme for the much-loved 10-day festival this year at Dartington Hall.

The bursary recipients will be able to listen to and engage for free with a variety of leading figures in the fields of literature, history, politics, comedy and more.

The scheme is available for all young people aged between 17 and 25 who have a real passion for the arts, a genuine interest in topics such as travel, history and debate and who wish to be inspired by a range of stimulating writers and speakers. This whole experience is accessible to young people totally free of charge.

Previous bursary student, Ellie, sums up the experience as “such a great opportunity to meet interesting people. I discovered an interest in topics I had never thought about before and I am still in touch with people I met during my time at the festival. Also, I was amazed to sit and read the newspaper one afternoon next to one of the prominent speakers at the event!”

Bursary project manager Emma said: “This is an exciting opportunity for young and enquiring minds to further their existing interests and develop new ones. It is great to see young people so enthusiastic about the festival and getting the chance to be inspired by our festival programme.”

The bursary scheme is continually supported by the generosity of local businesses and bidders who take part in our festival auction. This year the auction will be held on Sunday, July 15 at 4pm. Information will follow shortly regarding this year’s must-have lots.

Young people interested in the Ways With Words bursary scheme should download an application form from www.wayswithwords.co.uk or should contact Emma and Elisa at bursary.wayswithwords@gmail.com, 01803 867373.
