Chris Dobrowolski will present his talk entitled Escape – How Not to Make a Living as an Artist, at The Gallery, Plymouth College of Art.
In this presentation, says The Gallery’s site, Chris will talk about making his way as an artist in a world that remains largely indifferent to his work.
It promises to be an excellent event.
“Art students in their thousands have been motivated and inspired by Dobrowolski’s compelling and very funny lectures,” says artist, writer, curator and former head of Research in Contemporary Art at Leeds Metropolitan University Derek Horton.
“In the most extreme and creative ways he turns everyday life into extraordinary experiences.’
Chris’s book Escape tells a story that beings with him trying to escape from art college, and explains how he got to the Antarctic.
There’s a super interview with Chris by Steve Hawthorne on In Suffolk, and you can listen to a review.
The Artist Talk by Chris Dobrowolski at the Plymouth College of Art is free and open to the public. It takes place on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 from 5.30pm to 6.30pm.
