Award-winning designer Allison Colpoys has teamed up with children’s book author Davina Bell to illustrate a new series of picture books published by the oft-winning Austrailian Small Publisher of the Year, Scribe.
The first, titled The Underwater Fancy-Dress Parade, will be released in March 2015. It deals with the topic of shyness and is illustrated in a distinct fashion with an unusual, eye-catching colour palette of pinks and blues.
Allison started her career at Simon & Schuster in the UK, before moving back to Australia where she quickly built up a reputation as one of the top book cover designers in the country, winning several Australian Publishers Association (APA) Book Design Awards including: Young Designer of the Year in 2009, Best Designed Reference and Scholarly Book in 2010, Best Designed General Illustrated Book in 2011, Best Designed Children’s Fiction Book in 2012, Best Designed Literary Fiction and Best Designed Children’s Series in 2013, and most recently Best Designed Non-Fiction Book in 2014.
