Beards, goats, red hair – Ireland welcomes them all, not to mention the sport, art and culture. Ireland is home to Gatherings and you’re sure to find a Gathering in 2013 that will be right up your street.
In the We’ve Saved You A Seat… in Ireland campaign, Irish comedian Andrew Maxwell takes us on a whistle-stop tour of the type of gatherings on offer. And there’s plenty to do.
The Town of 1,000 Beards sounds interesting, and the crowning of a goat as ‘King Puck’ could raise a few eyebrows, but gaelic sport, Irish dancing and Ireland’s famed theatre and comedy are also a massive draw.
Click through the video and you will be taken to the Discover Ireland Gathering Facebook page, with a whole searchable slew of fun, stimulating, challenging and relaxing events going on in Ireland for 2013.
If you need anymore convincing, here are some quotes from those charismatic movie stars Pierce Brosnan and Liam Neeson (that’s if Andrew Maxwell isn’t A-list enough for you).
Pierce has said 2013 is a time to “celebrate what it is to be Irish”. And Liam told us, “Whether you’re first, second-generation or even with no connection to Ireland, you should visit in 2013 for a unique experience.”
It’s difficult to argue with facts, so find your own Gathering in Ireland, they’ve saved you a seat, apparently.
