Are you young and gifted and musical? South West Music School is sniffing out exceptionally talented young musicians (Reggae to Rock, Folk to Flamenco and Bach to Bhangra – and any combination) aged between 8 and 16.
The school element of the South West Music School is a virtual one (not based in any one location) for the whole of the South West, and there are 19 places available for their mentoring, individual tuition and residential opportunities.
The key is, they say, that students determine their programme so that we can cultivate their ideas, potential and talent.
They told arts+culture: “We are looking for young musicians with a sense of considerable authority and clarity; stylish and who are musically informed. Candidates must be between the ages of 8 – 16, have high levels of musicianship, talent and/or potential and be a committed individual.”
It’s a two-stage application process – the first is an appliaction form and recording, the second is an audition day. Deadline is Friday, May 8.
