A group of artists based in Ideford are going on the road to inspire other artists and those who don’t quite have the confidence to exhibit their work alone.
Drawn to the Valley artists of the Tamar Valley, an established group of artists and makers with a high public profile in the South West, require a part-time paid arts co-ordinator to oversee and organise their activities.
Devon Open Studios registration will open on January 5.
Artsmatrix, the South West support service for artists and the creative industries in the South West has folded.
Plymouth College of Art and Plymouth Arts Centre have come together for an exhibition and series of free workshops and events with the international artist Lucy Orta. The exhibitions runs in both venues from Thursday, September 17 to Saturday, October 31.
Jane Perkins is an artist who re-uses the objects that she finds to create what she calls ‘memory brooches’. This technique has now developed into portraiture, which you can see at The Cafe in Topham as part of Devon Open Studios

Since March 2008 a group of artists have come together as catalysts of change, to work with the local community, the secondary school, primary schools, local universities and local professionals under the name Growing Our Future. Ffion Farnell reports

Zoe’s work is evolving. It used to be about memory, but it is moving into the ‘now.’ She still uses drawings kept by her parents from her childhood, and as her work evolves these are linked in, but her current themes are more about her own mortal presence.
