Growing Our Future in Okehampton is part of Devon Open Studios (Sept 5 to Sept 20)

Devon Open Studios opens on Saturday, September 5 and runs to Sunday, September 20. In the first of our series on the artists taking part we visit Growing our Future, a community garden project in Okehampton. This was first published in our Arts+Culture magazine.

Since March 2008 a group of artists have come together as catalysts of change, to work with the local community, the secondary school, primary schools, local universities and local professionals under the name Growing Our Future. Ffion Farnell reports

Zoe Hyde’s inner child is in her new work at the Thelma Hulbert Gallery, Honiton

Artist Zoe Hyde, who has an exhibition at the Thelma Hulbert Gallery, Honiton, until Saturday, October 24, is a successful young woman, but still very much in touch with her inner child. Deborah Smith spoke to her

Zoe’s work is evolving. It used to be about memory, but it is moving into the ‘now.’ She still uses drawings kept by her parents from her childhood, and as her work evolves these are linked in, but her current themes are more about her own mortal presence.

The recycled art events of TRAIL is set to begin on July 19. Here’s a round up

Liz Lockyear, organiser of the South Devon recycled art in the environment event TRAIL got in touch to describe some to the art and events which begin on Wednesday, July 19.

The environmental coastal sculpture TRAIL between Shaldon and Dawlish,Wednesday, July 19 to Sunday, September 6, is five years old this year. It is an amazing event, full of surprises only possible when so many creative people come together with a common cause.
