To coincide with Collect, London’s popular annual fair for contemporary craft, The Devon Guild of Craftsmen is launching its own South West version of the event.
Look and definitely touch is the theme of the exhibition Tall Stories, currently running at the Devon Guild of Craftsmen, Bovey Tracey. Based in a bright, whitewashed room within the old mill building, visitors are encouraged to play (carefully!) with the collection of automata and kinetic sculptures and discover the stories they have to tell.
The exhibition is called Tall Stories, but it could equally go by the name Moving Stories, what with all the motions stimulating emotions at The Devon Guild of Craftsmen in Bovey Tracey with its new exploration of storytelling through automata.
A review day is on offer for craft practitioners who have practiced their craft in the South West for more than seven years. It takes place at the Devon Guild of Craftsmen on Wednesday, April 22 from 10am to 5.30pm and cost £15.
