Plymouth Contemporary Artist Showcase 2018 Peninsula Arts Gallery, University of Plymouth Friday, March 2 to Thursday, March 29

Soil Culture: Dig It has launches at Plymouth University. The exhibition is part of a three-year programme of cultural events across the South West region that encourages visitors to look beyond the surface of earth, mud, dirt and grit to find its underlying beauty and purpose in our existence.
What connects a slightly squashed paper cup, a Swedish tape measure, a tiny wooden model of shoes and a 1/14 scale paper chair? The answer is they are all items of value donated by a host of top designers to feature in a unique exhibition at Plymouth University.
Landscapes of Exploration is being held in the Peninsula Arts Gallery – within the University’s Roland Levinsky Building – and draws together for the first time the works of 10 visual artists, one musician and three writers who undertook residencies in the Antarctic between 2001 and 2009.
