Arundel Castle in West Sussex is to host the GB Theatre Company for three nights of Shakespeare’s much loved plays. The Comedy of Errors and Macbeth will be performed al fresco in the Collector Earl’s Garden as part of the Arundel Festival, and tickets are now available.

The Collector Earl’s Garden offers an idyllic setting for these performances; surrounded by fine floral displays, in the shadow of the impressive cathedral as the aptly named ‘Oberon’s Palace’ glistens behind the stage.

One of Shakespeare’s earliest plays, The Comedy of Errors will be performed on Thursday 21 and Saturday 23 August, while the twisting tragedy Macbeth will unfold on Friday 22 August.

Castle manager Bryan McDonald said: “We are thrilled to be welcoming the cast and crew of the GB Theatre Company back to Arundel Castle for 2014. Year on year, they produce the most spell binding performances and keep the audiences entertained throughout.

“I cannot think of a more fitting celebration of Shakespeare’s 450th birthday, than to welcome two of his most admired plays to the Collector Earl’s Garden. I look forward to seeing what’s in store for this year’s audiences!”
