Lionel Aggett, a respected Devon artists, has died in Exeter.
Gaining international recognition for his landscape of Italy, Spain and France, Lionel is best know closer to home for his Dartmoor landscapes and Exeter scenes.
He was born in Whiddon Down and educated at Exeter school, the former architect took up painting full time in 1991, and a number of successful exhibitions followed.
Fellow artist and contemporary, Wilf Plowman, of Lympstone, said: “Lionel was a wonderful man and a great artist.”
