Sunday December 9 in the Great Hall, Dartington, at 7.30pm
Some while back I gave preliminary details of Dartington Community Choir’s Christmas Concert where they will be featuring two quite different works – Handel’s Dixit Dominus and Ryba’s Czech Christmas Mass.
Dartington spokesperson Hillary Tuppen has now confirmed that Camilla Harris will be the mezzo-soprano on the night, while Simon Dunbavand will be playing the organ alongside the Dartington Sinfonietta.
Tickets are going well, and, since the venue cannot accommodate a massive audience once the choir and orchestra are assembled, you do need to book your tickets sooner, rather than later, to avoid disappointment.
While there is always a lot on offer locally at this time, conductor Simon Capet and the Dartington Community Choir always come up with something very special at every event, and something which is not only first-class, musically-speaking, but always immensely enjoyable, enhanced by the glorious surroundings, and the choir’s unbounded enthusiasm. A great evening, and one that is not to be missed..
