DIY, pop up and the fizziest of cultural events by the UK’s finest ‘convention-prodding’ talent are being curated through a series of free workshops, exhibitions, screenings and talks under the ün-establishment banner from Kopperberg’s.
Running from October 12 to October 26 in London and Manchester, the series of events includes Birmingham-based Knitting with Stitches and Hoes offering their pearls (geddit?) of knitting wisdom in two workshops in Manchester.
If the tick-tack of knitting needles is a little unamplified for you, Manchester Midi School will be offering a free masterclass in DJ techniques.
In Shoreditch you can learn how to reclaim the roads with the Pothole Gardener, billed as ‘part art projects, part labour of love, part experiment, part mission to highlight how [poor] our roads are’, the Pothole Gardener shows you how safely create your own amusing pothole garden.
For fashionisatas out there there’s a special event run by Let Them Eat Cake, who have quickly become the toast of the fashion world.
The first week of the event Friday, October 12 to Thursday, October 18, will be in Manchester, with the second week being run Shoreditch, London.
We’ve just picked a few of the exciting, invigorating and creatively empowering events – there are plenty more. Pop along to the ün-establishment Facebook page to pick the events you’d like to attend. They are free, but capacity is often limited, so make sure you book your place.
