For those interested in the technical capabilities of planes, as well as those who just want to travel in safety, comfort and style, the new KLM Boeing 787 Dreamliner could be ideal. And it starts with the elegant paint job – that’s livery, to you. (BTW this isn’t going to be technical, and I’ll only mention ‘thrust’ once.)
It all starts with ‘The Biggest Unboxing Video You’ve Ever Seen’, which is basically just being shown around the new KLM Boeing 787 Dreamliner as they remove some of the protective covering – and it’s all rather compelling viewing and will make you wonder where you put your passport.
For example, there’s an ooh factor in finding out that the overhead baggage storage is 30% larger, making it the biggest in the industry, and that economy class leg room has been increased by 40%. Anyone who has spent hours with their knees knocking the seat in front can sympathise, as will those who have used all their Tetris skills to get their hand-luggage in the overheads.
But get a load of this – the plane comes with 11-inch HD touch screens, wi-fi throughout and, drum-roll please, the extra-large windows (all the better to see out of) are dimmable. Pretty nifty.
Of course, air flight isn’t the most eco way to travel, but with composite and light-weight materials, the new KLM Boeing 787 Dreamliner is incredibly efficient, they say, which could mean they were able to plump up the luxury in business class. The business class has seats that turn into bed! Still, they don’t get to use the dimmable window (watch the film for the business class arrangements).
There’s also dynamic LED lighting in the cabin, which not only looks great, it helps with crossing time zones, apparently.
And for extra piece of mind, the new KLM Boeing 787 Dreamliner comes with a standard air plane power connector, so it can be recharged easily.
