The Honiton Festival lunchtime concerts begins with something of a coup. The duo of Vlad Maistorovici and Dario Bonuccelli will perform a programme including Mendelssohn, Schubert and Paganin on Friday, October 23 at 1pm at St Paul’s Church in the town.
Vlad Maistorovici and Dario Bonuccell began performing together in May 2008, touring Sweden, Italy and Romania, where they played a concert dedicated to Ysaye for the 150th anniversary of the great composer’s birth. This was broadcast by Romanian national television in Bucharest. Since then they have toured widely to great acclaim. This year’s highlights include performances at the Wigmore Hall and the Spoleto Festival.
The Honiton Festival has brought exceptional established and emerging artists from the world of classical music to the South West.
The festival will be producing three concerts and another popular opera gala for the autumn and winter season, with the established annual Honiton Festival following in May 2010.
The Honiton winter lunchtime festival at St Paul’s Church, Honiton, includes Vlad Maistorovici and Dario Bonuccelli on Friday, October 23; The Solstice Quartet on Friday, December 4; and Nathaniel Boyd (cello), Simon Lane (piano) on Friday, February 19, 2010. Tickets cost £7.
The English Touring Opera will begin the spring season on Friday, March 26, 2010.
