The Garden Opera Company, who are vowed to put opera in the community – take that as you may, will perform Donizetti’s Don Pasquale at Ivybridge Community College on February 27.
The Garden Opera Company (who don’t seem to be called GOC by anyone) aim ‘to perform within local community events such as festivals, charity fundraisers, schools, public and private celebrations, churches, opera celebrations and corporate events’ and ‘to work with school, volunteers, families and many others in the communities’ they visit.
Their latest production of Don Pasquale puts the comic opera in the 1970s, and the audience is encouraged to dress in 1970s period costume. Don’t forget your Kipper Tie – there’s a joke in there somewhere.
