Just Turn Left will include exclusively new work that has been created in response to a journey the artist made through France to Brittany. The show will be structured around her two major concerns; the landscape and the domestic, supported by her private sketchbooks whose presence give an insight into her working practise.
This particular trip to Brittany has sparked off the beginnings of a special new body of work that will be coming exclusively to Edgar Modern later this year.
Jessica Cooper was born in 1969. She began her studies at Falmouth School of Art and went on to receive her degree from Goldsmiths College London in 1989.
Her work has been compared to the Japanese Haiku; much substance and meaning is communicated with a few well-considered lines.
Jessica is a member of the Royal West of England Academy, the Newlyn Society of Artists, and an associate member of the Penwith Society of Arts. She has exhibited widely across Cornwall and the rest of the UK and has recently been invited to show her work at Tate St Ives.
Just Turn Left is at Edgar Modern from November 1 to 15.
