The open studios event is now over and tomorrow the two exhibitions at the Landmark, Ilfracombe and Queen’s Theatre, Barnstaple are coming down.
So far most of the feedback from the artists has been extremely positive, with certain ones having lots of visitors and sales, even some living and working in the more isolated areas have sold work and gained commissions – always reassuring as the event organiser.
It was a sneaking worry prior to the event that sales would be down on last year due to the downturn in the economy generally – but so far business seems to have been very good. I will be sending each artist an evaluation form, so will know more when these start to come back to me.
All the artists my partner and I visited over the two weekends made us very welcome and it was great to be out there just looking at the wonderful art they had produced.
Now I am back to the computer as I have to produce a report for the North Devon Festival and the funders – all the facts and figures and visitor numbers etc need to be collated to help ensure that Art Trek can happen again next year!
I will report on this blog the final analysis on the event as soon as I have all the evaluation back in.
