Exeter artists will be opening their doors to the public again for Exeter’s fourth Open Studios event which runs from Friday to Sunday, November 6-8.
Studios, homes and impromptu gallery spaces will be open over the three days. A range of artforms will be on show including painting, jewellery, textiles, furniture, photography, mosaic art, ceramics, paper art, sculpture, and printmaking.
This year there are even more artists exhibiting as well as a number of artists’ groups. These include four artists known as The Shop, who have taken over an empty shop at 88 Fore Street, under St George’s Hall, the Art Café who have again taken over Newton Community Hut in Belmont Park and The Four exhibiting in Mathews Hall, Fore Street, Topsham.
To accompany the event there will be an exhibition of work by participating artists at the Exeter Castle Gallery from Thursday, November 5 to Sunday, November 8, as well as an information hub.
Exeter Castle is also home to Exeter Artspace, an artist-led organisation offering affordable studio space to artists. Many of these studios will be open during the Open Studios event.
