Abrasive Trees release slow-burn intensity with new single Carved Skull
Abrasive Trees bring their brooding, immersive sound to Bristol, Colchester and Exeter on 26, 27, 28 March, headlining three carefully curated nights of monolithic atmospheres and slow-burning intensity.
The shows arrive at a pivotal moment for the band, as they announce a new single and video due this Friday 13th February (seems fitting). The single is taken from a full-length album landing in May via Italian dark-rock label Argonauta Records. The band will use both the single and the live dates to offer a glimpse of what’s next: darker edges, wider dynamics, velvet-heavy sounds shaped for close quarters.
Beauty and heaviness
Support in Bristol (Exchange) and Exeter (Cavern) comes from Mt Onsra, whose weighty, experimental sound saw them appear at ArcTanGent last year, and Mustelids an emerging post-rock outfit from Plymouth bringing texture, restraint and slow-building tension to the bill. Together, this lineup spans multiple shades of beauty and heaviness, from cavernous low-end to expansive, cinematic noise.
Treats
The audience in Colchester (Arts Centre) will be treated to a bill that includes no-rock pioneers and former Bella Union/Lo Recordings artist Rothko plus experimental solo electronica from Strandings (Dead Rat Orchestra) and the doom-laden drones of Vaahl.
